(August 9, 2020) Having already integrated Dirac Live room correction in its Concert and Maestro Series AV Processors, AudioControl recently announced both series will now carry Dirac Live Bass Control functionality. Dirac Live Bass Control is the industry’s hottest low-end correction solution, utilizing both machine learning and artificial intelligence to create accurate, tight bass around an entire room.

AudioControl says Dirac’s bass solution will be included with its Concert XR-8 and XR-6 receivers and Maestro X7 and X9 pre-pros. Concert XR-4 owners can opt to purchase Dirac Live Bass Control for an additional fee.

UPPSALA, Sweden, August 6, 2020 — Swedish digital audio pioneer Dirac and AudioControl, a leading designer and manufacturer of high-performance audio solutions, announced that AudioControl’s latest line of receivers and processors include Dirac Live Bass Control for a more immersive home theater experience in any space.

Dirac Live Bass Control uses machine learning and artificial intelligence to co-optimize the components of a sound system to deliver accurate, consistent bass throughout a room.

“Bass performance suffers when the sound waves from speakers and subwoofers start to bounce around a room,” stated Niklas Thorin, Dirac’s Head of Business Development, Home & Professional Audio. “Dirac Live Bass Control dynamically measures and phase-corrects speakers and subwoofers across all frequencies in order to produce superior bass clarity and enhanced bass tone evenness throughout a room. Home theater audio has never sounded so rich and precise, as users of AudioControl’s leading AVRs and preamp/processors can now attest.”

Dirac Live Bass Control aggregates measurement and location data from each subwoofer to determine how a system’s bass is distributed throughout a room. It then identifies gaps in the sound waves and distributes bass evenly. The ground-breaking audio software also corrects the low-frequency sound waves produced by other speakers so that the bass produced by each speaker is in sync with the overall system. Such intelligent processing allows for flexible placement of subwoofers in a space to meet the listener’s design or aesthetic preferences.

Dirac Live Bass Control is part of the Dirac Live family of acoustic processing technology, which also includes the award-winning Dirac Live Room Correction calibration software.

“As a leading supplier of best-in-class home cinema receivers, processors and amplifiers to A/V specialists, we are excited to feature Dirac Live Bass Control as standard across our new Maestro X-Series processor platform and the majority of our XR Series receivers,” explained AudioControl CEO Alex Camara.

Continued Camara, “Dirac’s new bass control technology will enable AudioControl to provide the very best cinematic experience by intelligently optimizing the subwoofers and speakers to the characteristics of each room. Including Dirac Live Bass Control as standard on the majority of our processors and receivers is another example of AudioControl’s commitment to providing the very best entertainment solutions for our discerning customers.”

Dirac Live Bass Control is included with AudioControl’s Concert XR-8 and Concert XR-6 receivers and Maestro X7 and Maestro X9 preamp/processors. It is available for an additional cost for the Concert XR-4 receiver.

The latest AudioControl Concert receivers support in-demand surround formats and deliver six channels of user-configurable outputs for high-pass channels, height channels or additional subwoofers for optimizing the movie experience. The Maestro series enables higher levels of precision and control in immersive home theaters and supports all popular, advanced surround formats, with 16 channels of balanced and unbalanced output.

Sounds like it's going to happen :-)!

I'm going to queue one up for review, too. Great news for home theater fans (to have more choices)!
