- Summary
- The Bijou 3100 is a smart, purpose-built solution for anyone who wants real home theater performance without the size and complexity of a full AV receiver. AudioControl has combined compact dimensions, modern connectivity, and meaningful expansion options into a chassis small enough to disappear behind a TV or inside cabinetry. Real-world testing showed stable operation across HDMI eARC, digital, and analog sources, along with surprisingly strong sonic performance from its internal DAC and amplification stages. Built with integrators in mind but equally attractive to enthusiasts, the Bijou 3100 stands out as an elegant option for secondary rooms, passive soundbars, or minimalist living room systems where simplicity and sound quality both matter.
AudioControl’s Bijou lineup was designed to solve a modern problem: how do you deliver real, usable power, eARC convenience, and flexible control in a chassis small enough to disappear behind a TV or inside a cramped cabinet? In this review, we dive into AudioControl's Bijou 3100, a compact 3.1-channel integrated amp and processor that blends practicality for custom install applications with enthusiast-friendly performance.
The Bijou 3100 features three amplified channels rated at 100 watts into 8 ohms or 200 watts into 4 ohms, built-in HDMI eARC, multiple digital and analog inputs, subwoofer output, plus two assignable preamp outputs for system expansion. That means it can power a traditional left, center, right speaker setup while also supporting future upgrades with external amplification. That makes it a potential alternative to a bulky AV receiver in a media room with a passive soundbar system or multi-channel arrangement, or a minimalist home theater space.
In this evaluation, we explored the Bijou’s dynamic, feature-rich web-based control interface, real-world performance, and operating temperature and noise levels to give you an idea of how it performs in the real world.
