Altec duplex speakers available model 920-8B

A friend of mine salvaged about 20 of these massive old Altec 2 way speakers. They were in the ceilings of the Opry Hotel, of all placed. Each one is a die cast 12" woofer with a concentric (not phase aligned) cloth dome tweeter. The crossover is mounted behind the magnet. I am not sure how it might be separated and moved for cabinet mounting. If anyone wants infor google the model number. I can put you in touch with John, the seller. He will sell a pair for $120, and will give quantity discounts. I've helped him move the speakers twice now and they are heavy!

Interesting that the Opry went with such large speakers that many years ago. I wish I was in the DIY mood and had the desire (and time) to tinker with something like this. I hope maybe someone will share a build with us. I would really like to hear about how well the project turns out.
