We went out for lunch and came back to find the TV in the media room dead, two led lights in the hall now glow orange, and are very hot, and the induction hotplate no longer works...
First thing, check the fuse box. No circuit breakers tripped so I reset them anyway. No joy.
I would love to know what caused it. I guess the energy company will deny any involvement.

Sorry to hear. My condolences. Possibly gremlins? lightening? Most likely some power surge due to some top secret government project but yeah, I doubt anybody will take responsibility. Back to square one -- rebuilding.

No doubt... we've had aliens in the past... passing thru to only cause temporary havoc. It's their nature I suppose.

I talked to a friend who was an electrician and he thinks it is a floating neutral. Calling the experts in today.
