(December 9, 2025) Rekkord’s newest turntable has arrived in North America, and it is aimed squarely at vinyl fans who want to step beyond mass market decks without stumbling into high-dollar territory. The Rekkord M500, brought into the market by Vana Ltd., enters as a three-speed manual turntable that blends a floating sub chassis design, German engineering, and a clean modern footprint. For listeners who want solid mechanics, quiet operation, and an upgrade path that feels approachable, the M500 offers a compelling mix of simplicity and precision.

Rekkord builds all of its turntables in its Black Forest manufacturing facility, and the M500 follows the company’s familiar mechanical philosophy. A floating sub chassis, supported by four parabolic springs, isolates the motor and tonearm from the main plinth to reduce resonances and outside vibration. Instead of requiring meticulous leveling, the turntable uses three buffered aluminum feet that automatically maintain proper balance, working alongside the tonearm’s cardan mount to keep geometry stable during playback.

The tonearm is a custom-designed 8.3-inch ultra-low mass aluminum arm fitted with Rekkord’s calibrated cardan bearings. The design uses massless tracking force adjustment, keeping the arm’s center of gravity aligned over the bearing for consistent tracking. Anti-skating and tracking force settings arrive factory-calibrated, and the aluminum platter includes a damping ring to help suppress ringing and other mechanical noise. Speed-wise, the belt-driven motor supports 33, 45, and 78 RPM playback.

Buyers can choose the M500 with or without a factory-installed Ortofon 2M Blue cartridge, which adds $100 to the overall package. The bundled version arrives fully set up, making it an easy first step for anyone building a system, while the cartridge-ready version leaves room for personal preference.

According to Vana’s Roy Feldstein, the M500 fills an important spot in Rekkord’s lineup for music lovers ready to move beyond mass market players. Its compact footprint fits comfortably in modern living spaces, but the underlying engineering reflects Rekkord’s emphasis on precision mechanics, reliability, and long-term serviceability.

The Rekkord M500 is priced at $799 in matte black or silver, with the bundled cartridge version at $899. Search here to find a dealer near you.

No idea about this brand, but I've been a big fan of another German brand, Magnat, which produced my current turntable, the MTT-990. Beautiful piece of gear, and criminally never given a chance in the US market. Hopefully Rekkord has lots of success with Vana.
