I use a beringer XLR measurement mic for REW. This is connected to a miditech audiolink3 soundcard. I prefer to use loopback for timing and this has 2 channels with 1/4 inch jacks. It does the job but it means using the analog inputs on my minidsp 2x4HD via the headphone out 1/4 jack which is susceptible to noise, ill fitting jacks etc and Iv been wishing for a long time to find a simiar product but with an optical or s/pdif coax line output. Im no expert on sound technology industry and struggle to comprehend the purpose of the most specialised equipment out there.

Also whats the benefits of this more complicated setup compared to the Umik usb mic setup ?
For me my interest is car audio and optical stuff just seems easier to setup/control and less problematic, especialy regarding noise. (the biggest battles in my opinion)
