New Custom Built Studio & Guestroom

Room for Music Production with integrated guest room

Description

Dear AV community.
I’d love to share my latest custom building project optimizing a L-Shaped room being beneficial for music and leisure.
The room is currently in the building process.
From a 5.1 setup - the 2.0 configuration is good to go.

The main aim was to achieve a critical listening environment for music & video Production / blind auditions and a savory guest room as spare.

My passion for DSP and shaping the sound for generating goos bumps and unveiling low quality productions prior they hit the floor will be facilitated extensively.

I want also share later insights on some listening tests and blind listening sessions with audio enthusiasts assessing the impact of digital tube saturation vs analog tube saturation and share the results later here.

Stay tuned for update in this building project and please provide feedback enabling me giving relevant insights and information back to the community

Great looking room! I have to admit, at first I thought "Cool space... why does have an ironing board on the right side of the room". Embarrassingly, I took a closer look and realized what it really is.

What kind of speakers do you have deployed?

Hi, Todd - thanks for your nice comment. My home brand is Mackie for the mains 5 & .1 Subwoofers and Klein+Hummel for the nearfield.

All mixed and matched with the Midas Mixer and currently 1 Dirac processor.
Waiting for the delivery of the 8 channel miniDsp for the Mains.

Nice, clean looking setup. I'm sure you've had some fun times there.

Do you find that putting the monitors near the wall gives better bass? I've seen it recommended by Genelec (and other pro monitor vendors) to reduce speaker-boundary interference.

Hi, Mike48, I’ve noticed that I have bad interferences without sound proofing and absorbtion.
