Would YOU let your boss implant you with a microchip?

There is a lot of news today in regards to this topic.

from chicagotribune,

"Three Square Market-a developer of software used in vending machines-is offering all of its employees the option to get a microchip implanted between the thumb and forefinger." ... "The RFID (Radio Frequency ID) chips would allow those employees who volunteer to participate in the program to open doors, pay for purchases, share business cards, store medical information, pay for stuff at other RFID terminals and login to their computers. . .all with a wave of the hand."

yeah, this is heading down a slippery slope. Look at what is already available on social media free and clear when years ago, court order would be needed to get personal details. lol.

The excuse of course is "convenience". The internet of things is to allow us that option.. Smart everything..

While this is news for us in the states, looks like it has been happening overseas in Sweden for sometime.

Per the telegraph,

"Epicenter, which is home to more than 100 companies and some 2,000 workers, began implanting workers in January 2015. Now, about 150 workers have them."

No way, not ever. My card has a chip, why do I need another one?

People forget to bring their access cards to work or they lost them so this way it is "convenient" way to not loose your access since it is on your body at all times.

Nope. Never happen here. Too much room for undisclosed abuse.

The problem is of course we don't know what data will eventually get collected we can't predict what or who will use that in the future. Considering it has started with one company here in the States in Wisconsin, time will tell if it spreads to other companies in other regions or not and to what extent it will go.
