Lifestudio debuted last fall as a new category for Epson, designed to simplify big-screen entertainment. Every model in the lineup combines Epson’s latest 3LCD projection technology with integrated Sound by Bose audio and onboard Google TV, wrapped in designs meant to feel social, portable, and approachable rather than strictly theater-focused. An idea that's less about replacing traditional home theater setups and more about making projection easier to live with day-to-day.
The current Lifestudio lineup spans five different models. At the top sits Lifestudio Grand, an ultra short throw laser projector designed to anchor a living room or media space. Rated at 3,600 lumens for both color and white brightness, Grand is built to function as a TV replacement, capable of daytime viewing while still delivering a cinematic image at night. Audio duties are handled by a built-in 2.1 channel Sound by Bose system with a dedicated 80 mm woofer, and HDMI eARC support allows passthrough of Dolby Atmos and DTS formats to external audio systems when needed.
On the portable side, Epson splits the lineup between Flex and Pop. Lifestudio Flex Plus leads that group, offering 4K PRO UHD resolution, HDR10+ support, 1,000 lumens of brightness, Auto Low Latency Mode for gaming, and a tiltable stand with ambient lighting that doubles as a table light. The standard Flex steps down to 1080p resolution and 700 lumens, drops the ambient lighting, and relies on a manual game mode, while keeping the same Bose 2.0 stereo system and EpiqSense 2.0 automatic setup.
Pop and Pop Plus are the smallest and most casual models in the family. Both are rated at 700 lumens and use compact 2.0 channel Bose audio systems, but Pop Plus adds 4K PRO UHD resolution and Auto Low Latency Mode. The standard Pop sticks with 1080p resolution and manual low-latency switching, aimed squarely at everyday viewing and easy portability.
In a consumer-friendly move, Epson has unified model naming globally, eliminating regional naming differences that previously made it difficult to compare models across markets. It’s a practical change that makes tracking specs, reviews, and updates far simpler for consumers and enthusiasts alike.
Epson's latest announcement builds on last year's launch by introducing Google TV with Gemini to the Lifestudio platform. Gemini for TV expands voice control beyond basic commands, allowing more conversational interactions such as searching for content, asking follow-up questions, or managing smart home devices directly from the projector. Content discovery is centralized across apps, with a single watchlist and personalized recommendations driven by viewing habits rather than individual services. With MediaTek’s smart projector SoC platform under the hood, Epson is positioning Lifestudio as a self-contained streaming device rather than just a display.
Gemini integration also brings smart home controls to the screen, allowing compatible lights, thermostats, and other devices to be managed from the projector interface. Epson says the goal is to make projection feel less like a standalone gadget and more like a natural extension of a connected living space.
Support for Google TV with Gemini will begin rolling out to Lifestudio Grand in the coming months, with additional models gaining access throughout 2026. Epson has indicated that availability will expand over time rather than landing all at once, as the platform matures across the lineup.
Pricing for the Lifestudio family starts at $679 for Pop and reaches $2,499 for the flagship Grand. All models include a two-year limited warranty and are available now through Epson and Amazon:
