There are a FEW dealers that I know are for sale for close to NOTHING and the older sellers just want somebody who loves AV to keep the party going.
What you can earn being an audiophile salesperson is significant in 2025. When I was a kid in college, I sold Cello with Joe Cali and Mark Levinson. Joe just opened a Gryphon showroom in West Hollywood (we did some news on this recently) to repeat the same business model 30 years later. Back then, I made $150,000 a year IN COLLEGE. While that's not a ton by So Cal standards today - I can report to you that I NEVER felt more RICH in my life. I bought a basically new 911. I had sick audio gear and NO BILLS. I would like to feel what that level of freedom is like. To quote Freddy Mercury "I got mortages and homes and stiffness in my bones" these days
If anybody ever wants to talk about how to make money selling AV gear, it is one of my favorite topics. Hit me up. I would love to help and there is PLENTY of money to be made.
