(September 16, 2025) Klipsch and Common Wave Hi-Fi are teaming up to host a special event in Los Angeles on September 18, promising to be one for the books. The evening will feature none other than Roy “Chief Bonehead” Delgado, Jr., principal engineer at Klipsch and long-time collaborator of Paul W. Klipsch, sharing his unique perspective on the history and future of horn-loaded loudspeakers. Delgado has spent decades chasing the elusive goal of delivering live-music realism in the home, and this rare opportunity puts him face-to-face with enthusiasts for a night of conversation and listening.

The event will include an open question-and-answer session moderated by Common Wave founder Wesley Katzir, followed by a carefully curated demonstration of Klipsch’s new Klipschorn AK7 loudspeakers. Outfitted with an active crossover, tri-amplified, and powered by Luxman amplification, the system is designed to deliver a pure, uncompromising high-fidelity experience. Luxman’s presence is significant, as their latest solid-state and tube gear will be paired with the Klipschorns, including the M-10X stereo amplifier and MQ-88uC tube amplifiers. For analog playback, attendees will hear a Kuzma Dual Arm XL DC turntable equipped with both stereo and mono cartridges from Koetsu. Luxman and Innuos will handle digital sources. And tying the system together? Cables by Shunyata.

This isn’t just about gear, it’s also about community. The night includes food and beverages courtesy of The Airliner, a local landmark with over a century of history. Proceeds will benefit Los Angeles Unified School and Music programs, making attendance not only a unique listening opportunity but also a chance to give back.

The event takes place from 7 to 9 pm at Common Wave Hi-Fi, 1451 East 4th St, Suite 106, Los Angeles, CA 90033. Space is strictly limited, and an RSVP with a small donation is required, so securing a spot early is essential. Attendees who donate $40 will also receive a Night School t-shirt, and for those unable to attend in person, the evening will be live-streamed on both the Klipsch and Common Wave Facebook pages. Please note, this is a 21-and-over event.

If you’re in Los Angeles and want to experience one of the most anticipated listening events of the year, make sure to register now while space is still available. Link is below.
