I'm helping a friend identify a potential issue. The message he's getting is:

"Very low signal on reference.
The highest level in the reference input is just 15 dB SPL.
This is musch lower than it should be. Check the input channel selection, loopback connections and input volume."

Everything seems to be connected and configured properly, but we're getting this message and wondering what it is referring to.
Input volume is up and in-room SPL is above 80. He's on a Mac.

Have you selected a loopback as timing reference on the Measure dialog? If so you need to make sure there is a cable from the output being used as the loopback output and the loopback input (which is the reference input in the message).

Thanks, John. I had a feeling that's what it was but I have never used a loopback as timing reference.
