I just purchased a umik-1 and on REW v5.20.3 and .13 I cannot even use it due to this message popping up halfway through the measurements. I've tried all the fixes already posted with no luck

Can you provide any info about your setup? What OS are you running? If Windows are you using ASIO, Java or Java WASAPI exclusive drivers? If macOS does REW appear in the list of applications with mic access? How have you set up your REW soundcard preferences?

When I start any measurement or level check the mic works for about 15 seconds until this message shows up and I have to restart rew. Thanks for the reply! I didnt expect it from software creator himself but I really we hope we can get this working. My intended output would be to my car speakers not just the default, but since I've been having this issue it seems to work for troubleshooting

it is, and the weird thing is that the umik will work for a few seconds and then stop

You could try re-enabling the microphone array and setting that as the default device (instead of the UMIK), so that there is no possibility of another application taking exclusive control of the UMIK when REW is trying to access it.

I’ve done that too. Do you think there’s different drivers I could use or any way it could be a windows 11 incompatibility?
