i am in the process of trying to get gremlins out of my Yaqin MC 13S tube push pull amp and it is sounding pretty good except for an occasional scratchy sound that I have no idea what causes it. It is not detectable while playing music but noticeable between songs or when nothing is playing. It is not steady, just an occasional 1 or 2 second “cough”. I have the bias set to a bullseye and have rotated tubes (among my two sets) but no progress. I am not an electrician (and can’t afford one) and nobody where I live does this kind of work so I am seeking advice on something I could check. I am good with meters and a soldering iron, but not smart enough to know where to look. Advice? Please no recommendations that assume I have thousands of dollars to buy a new amp with built in DAC and Yak milker. Or assumptions that a $25k power cable will fix me right up.
