If you are in the Tampa area, be aware...

From sun-sentinel,

"Shortly before 8 a.m., the National Hurricane Center issued a special advisory indicating that the depression had become a tropical storm west of the Tampa Bay-area.

Emily was located about 45 miles southwest of Tampa and had maximum sustained winds of 45 mph, an increase of about 10 mph from two hours earlier when the system had been designated as a tropical depression.

Emily was moving east at about 8 mph.

A Tropical Storm Warning is in effect from the Anclote River south to Bonita Beach along Florida’s west coast."

Yeah, the Hurricane season is upon us! This one looks like a rain maker. They are calling for 12" of rain. I noticed the wind at my house was pretty strong out of the east this morning, very uncommon & very unusual. Hopefully everyone is prepared for the worst!

I am sure you are hurricane prepared but never the less, stay safe away from windows and hopefully you have plenty of provisions available in case of power outage, etc. :)

Yep, I grew up in the country! And the song is right,

"A country boy can survive!"

Good to hear.. Hopefully just some light rain and no power outage or flooding..
