from nbcnews,

The Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games that were postponed last week due to concerns around the coronavirus pandemic have been rescheduled for next summer.

The games will open July 23, 2021, and close Aug. 8, 2021. The Paralympics will be held Aug. 24 through Sept. 5, 2021.

======

This is a good move. Best to postpone till next year.

Yep, there was no alternative to that step. I was really looking forward to the Badminton competitions in Tokyo.

Now I'm still looking forward to them and I really do hope that the 'Games' will take place in the end.

Badminton World Federation is planning to restart their international tournament series by Jan. 2021. Professional sports is being performed all over the world right now, mostly without local spectators. But a mega event like Summer Olympics is a different thing. Let's see and hope for the best.

I've never seen badminton played like these players play it... unbelievable what they can do. Pretty cool indeed.

I expected as much for the Olympics... for the best.

Several years ago I had the opportunity to watch Lin Dan perform in a tournament final. That guy really needed a pilot's licence for his action on court! Unbelievable indeed ...

Best youtube sources IMHO are 'BWF TV', official channel of Badminton World Federation, and 'Olympic', official channel of the IOC.
