This doesn't happen often... here is a discount code for the PC or Mac Dirac Live standalone version :)
Also, the 8 channel limitation mentioned in the video is due to a Windows limitation but the plugin can be used in DAWs or media players that supports AU, VST or AAX plugins (ProTools and JRiver are examples), and in this case the following formats are supported:
2.0, 2.1, 3,1, 4.1, 5.0, 5.1, 5.0.2, 5.1.2, 6.0, 6.1, 7.0, 7.1, 7.0.2, 7.1.2, 7.1.4, 9.1.4, Quadraphonic, Pentagonal, Hexagonal, Octagonal, Ambisonic

Presently I have an all analog system. Is there a way to run this analog only source material through such processors as DIRAC, if so what do I need (aside from the obvious Windows 10 PC) ? I assume I must pre-digitize all source material ? What about FM Radio ?
I would appreciate guidance here...

You may evaluate a standalone Dirac enabled processor, this is an example:

Looks like the MiniDSP 2x4 HD will work for me, thanks Flak...

Opinions ???

miniDSP makes some really nice gear. I have owned multiples of their product and still do. The SHD is one of my favorites with Dirac Live and Roon... and I use it in my two-channel system. I've used their standalone unit DDRC version... and I installed one in my wife's Lexus.

Watch out... the 2X4 HD can be upgraded online and become a DDRC24 which offers Dirac Live but at a cost

OK, what benefit would I see as Follows:

MiniDSP 2x4 HD and REW V.S. using (appropriate hardware) and DIRAC Live... i.e. REW V.S. Dirac live ?

REW measures, and if you use REW suggested filters, you need something to load it to... such as Convolver, which can be loaded in JRiver or Roon, etc.

Although I'm not 100% sure what you are asking. Are you seeking the difference with and without Dirac Live... or what benefit by adding Dirac Live vs not having it?

The end result could be very similar depending on how it is all implemented, but Dirac Live does all the filtering work for you.

... Are you seeking the difference with and without Dirac Live... or what benefit by adding Dirac Live vs not having it?

Exactly Sonnie... According to MiniDSP, all can be done, for example using MiniDSP 2x4 HD and REW, then the resulting filters loaded from REW into MiniDSP 2x4 HD without any other hardware or software. As you say " ... what benefit by adding Dirac Live vs not having it" is really what I want to know, as the increased cost of adding DIRAC Live is not insignificant.

Thanks,

I can't begin to explain the benefits of Dirac Live better than the video in the first post.

It's going to be more thorough and include more processing of the signal.

Whether that is beneficial to you or not will depend on your preferences, room and speakers.

Excellent, thanks Sonnie, I have viewed that post and discovered / studied many additional comparisons of REW V.S. Dirac Live, all most informative.

Having said that, my conclusion is that DIRAC Live would be the choice given my system, room and needs.

Thanks again for your prompt and useful feedback !
