(February 3, 2026) If you caught our ISE preview article yesterday, then you already know this name was on our must-see list. And today's news only sweetens the pot, making Theory Audio's presence a destination you shouldn't miss. Theory is debuting its new SR Series sound reinforcement lineup, including both passive and powered models, aimed at premium installed systems and portable professional applications.
The headline-grabber is a preview of a unique full-range loudspeaker that Theory says brings a level of innovation the industry hasn’t seen before. The SR-221.3 is built around a truly massive driver complement, including dual 21" low frequency drivers, four 10" carbon fiber midrange drivers, and a 5" wide band ring radiator compression driver. With bandwidth extending down to 27Hz, output approaching 140dB SPL, and extremely wide coverage, Theory says just one or two of these speakers can fill medium-sized venues with both scale and fidelity. Powered, passive, portable, and install versions are scheduled to arrive in Q2 2026.
Beyond that showstopper, the broader SR Series is designed around compact form factors, high output capability, and installation flexibility. All models are built to order and engineered with integrators in mind, featuring ergonomic handles, multiple mounting points, fly hardware, and optional accessories for wall, ceiling, and floor monitoring, as well as transport.
