SVS and retailer Nebraska Furniture Mart teamed up recently, hosting a special evening with speaker manufacturing powerhouse, SV Sound. Company President, Gary Yacoubian, spoke to the crowd about SVS's focus, value for the customer through providing high end performance at real world prices. The three demos provided afterward nailed home this impression.

Gary also touched on the subject of subwoofer expectations. Here is a short video of the 5 main performance attributes he talked to us about.

Prime Tower demo in the main showroom featured Cymatics, Guardians Of The Galaxy II, Mad Max Fury Road. Total Prime Tower, Center, Elevation, and Satellite system price, minus subwoofer, is just under $2k. The $2000 SB-16 subwoofer was extreme overkill for this caliber of system... and a completely welcome addition. Exemplary 5 figure audio performance for a low 4-figure price, this is the message that SVS wishes to deliver.

As amazing as the main showroom system was, the real surprise for me was the Prime Satellite 5.1 system demo. First with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows, then The Great Wall, the impression left was dynamics completely out of scale from what one would expect in a smaller stature system, particularly on the part of the mains speakers, and especially considering the demo was on the large HDTV display wall, playing into an extremely large retail showroom floor. This small system punched well above its weight class.

Ultra system 2 channel demo, Chris Isaak vocals were eerily, chill-enducingly realistic. Beck "Heart is a Drum" underpinned that impression, the voicing on this loudspeaker etched performers into our collective listening space.

Some excellent prizes were given away afterward, including a full surround system. All in all, an excellent and fun showing by SVS and Nebraska Furniture Mart.

Nice. Thanks for sharing.

Glad you got out there Dennis! SVS is making quite an effort on the Brick and Mortar front.

Yes, and NFM is quite the B&M store. I bought a couple of SB12-NSD subs there a while back and heard that these might be making a comeback.
