Looking for a solution to fill the gap beneath our new Vizio M70-E3 70" display in our great room, I stumbled across John Sollecito's Source Technologies site... http://www.sourcespeaker.com/. After Jim Wilson gave John high marks, I decided to reach out to John and see if he could accommodate a custom sized speaker that would fit perfectly in my space. He was very happy to oblige. I gave him the measurements, he made the recommendation, and a few weeks later we took delivery of an LCR passive speaker bar that has extremely high resolution and focuses on dialogue intelligibility.

This is the D series (large woofer magnet) sound bar, and is coupled with the XT ring radiator tweeters housed in a rigid enclosure. He uses his proprietary crossover with ESA Clarity caps. John says the large woofer magnets/motors accelerate the relatively low mass 4" diaphragms very rapidly, providing an extremely faithful musical waveform with uniform response over a wide coverage angle. Matched up with the XT ring radiator, we are left with no holes or gaps in the upper midrange and treble in the far field.

To say the least, I am really impressed with the unit. It turned out very nice, and the quality is superb.

Wow that looks pretty impressive. Also amazing that you were able to give someone dimensions for what you needed and then poof you have a custom fitting speaker.

Yeah... John does remarkable work, as I have now witnessed. He was super easy to work with also. I never thought I would find anyone who could do a custom build for me like this, so I was no doubt over-joyed to learn John could... and would do it for me.

And just like that, a custom sound bar! Wow! It looks like it fits snug like a button on a shirt. That's awesome.

Well the wife doesn't like the dishes rattling in the kitchen, so we have to pass on a sub. Been there and done that... and she was not a happy camper. It's part of the reason we have the dedicated room.

But, it is so much fun to rattle the dishes! And, crack drywall, rattle knick knacks onto the floor, vibrate the neighbor's TV while he is trying to watch it...

That looks very nice! The only improvement I can see would be hiding the white paint. I'd either paint the inside of the cabinet flat black or put up a felt border. Painting would probably be easier. I think two felt borders on each side would look very good. I'd put one behind the TV/Speaker to hide that white strip as well.

On a daily basis it's hardly noticeable. When you snap pictures, it wants to show up then.

It sounds great... definitely an improvement in dialogue, which is one thing I wanted, in addition to filling the gap.
