Some weirdness

Couple strange things now. My REW just stopped seeing the RME UCX card. Worked fine all day yesterday, and even today for a while but at some point (might have been when I did a calibration?) it just stopped. Populated list does not show it any more (strangely it still does show a Madiface card that I have used but not recently). I tried turning off/on, restarting laptop, replugging USB, different USB port, waving dead chicken over it. Looked at the Windows sound settings, and Windows does see the UCX. I tried switching to Java, and back, no luck.

Secondly, when I do a calibration using SPL meter, it says "Analog 3 (1)" at top of SPL Meter window. I verified several different ways that it is getting its signal from input 2 on the sound card (this happened before I had the above problem, and I could still see the UCX). Interestingly, I had selected ch 2 as the input in Preferences, so was thinking that the SPL meter would get signal from input 2.

Naming of devices and inputs comes from the drivers. If Windows can see the device you should be able to use the Java WASAPI Exclusive drivers, device names starting EXCL. ASIO drivers run outside REW and can have their own strange behaviours, they can kill the whole OS if they misbehave.

It can be confusing. I did see some "RME UCX Analog 1" and similar listed in the calibration section, which I thought was the correct and current one, but later realized it was the set under "hdspfire" later in the listing.
