I have a simple vintage stereo system that has only single ended inputs my digital source is an older iMac feeding A USB DAC with stereo single ended outputs. My iMac does not support the newer operating systems but I do have a windows 10 laptop that has HDMI and can be connected to my DAC. Assuming that I will be using my laptop to run REW, what will I need besides a USB microphone? Do I need some kind of interface? Hookup cables? Anything? Any inexpensive but good recommendations for an interface device if needed? Thanks for any help.

Recently started using REW myself and I bought a longer USB-C to mini-USB cable to connect my laptop to the miniDSP.

You don't say whether there is a pre and power amp in your system. Assuming there is then you will need a second set of RCA cables to connect the pre to the miniDSP which in tun will then be connected to the power amp/s using the existing RCA cables you are using.

Other than that I dont think you need anything else as the interface between you and the DSP is software on your laptop.

Good luck, its worth the effort

Thanks ChrisOH2001 easier than I thought.
you say connect to the power amp, you mean preamp don’t you?
I have an Audio Research SP9 preamp and Audio Research Classic 60 amp

I wonder if my Geshelli USB DAC would work as an audio interface for REW?

As far as I know, if you have a USB mic, you don’t need an interface.

I connect mine to an LFE channel out from a Kuro media box as I have a strange set up.

From what I think I know, you could install the miniDSP between the DAC and the Pre but this would only then work on the DAC's connection to they system. If for instance you also have a turntable then, installing the miniDSP between the Pre and the power amp then all inputs to the pre would be corrected.
