Short on Space? Check Out Emotiva’s All-New Airmotiv T-Zero Floorstander
(Emotiva) The all-new space-saving Airmotiv T-Zero floorstanders(December 20, 2018) Emotiva has added to its Airmotiv speaker lineup with an interesting compact tower meant for enthusiasts short on space. Dubbed the “T-Zero,” this all-new tower’s manageable physical presence makes it a great option for mid- to small-sized rooms.
The T-Zero is now Emotiva’s most affordable tower design, tagged at $499 per pair (as compared to the Airmotiv T2 and T1, which are priced at $999 and $699). Standing at nearly three feet with a narrow footprint (37 ¾” H x 7 1/16” W x 10 ½” D), the speaker presents tremendous placement flexibility and deployment versatility. Like its Airmotiv tower brethren, the T-Zero employs a folded ribbon tweeter for high frequency duty. It also carries two 5 ¼” woven fiber drivers, completing an array that can deliver sonic performance from 48Hz – 28kHz. The dual drivers are purposed for separate tasks, with the upper driver carrying midrange duties, while the lower driver is optimized for low frequency response.
“A limited space environment doesn’t mean sound should be limited, too,” said Dan Laufman, President and CEO, Emotiva Audio Corp. “Like its two predecessors in the Airmotiv line, the T-Zero packs a powerful sonic punch, but it takes up significantly less space than its older siblings.”
The speaker’s ported cabinet carries subtle design hints found on the company’s larger floorstanders, with a front bezel that has angled edges and a scratch-resistant satin black finish. The bezel houses hidden magnetic attachment points for a cloth grille that occupies the upper half of the speaker. The rest of the cabinet is finished in a rugged vinyl finish; the rear houses a bass reflex port and two five-way gold plated speaker posts.
