Your ideas may inspire others to try new things and thereby, learn more about this great hobby! My system is where old meets new!😂

Too much trouble to do a wiring diagram, but here’s a picture and gear run down.

Rack Top to bottom
Yamaha CX-A5000 preamp/processor
No-name HDMI to analog audio converter (behind wood cross piece, not visible in picture – provides signal for RTA)
Adcom ACE-515 line conditioner / power director
Yamaha YDP2006 digital parametric equalizer (one ea. for center, main L/R, rear surrounds, subwoofer)
Chase Technologies RLC-1 remote line controller (to provide remote control volume for subwoofer)
Denon DBT-3313 universal disc player
AudioControl R-130 real time analyzer display
AC Infinity Aircom T10 cooling component (for amplifier below)
Yamaha RX-Z9 AVR (used as multichannel amplifier via direct multichannel inputs)

Speakers
Canton Karat 920DC (front L/C/R)
Canton Plus D (rear L/R surrounds)
Realistic Minimus 7W (L/R front DSP effects)
Hsu Research ULS-15 MKII (15” subwoofer)

Television
Pioneer PDP-6010FD (60” plasma)

Miscellaneous
Roku Express
Yamaha DT-60 audio timer (provides digital clock display, looks like another system component)
Niles APC-2 12v outlet switcher (powers Adcom – under cabinet, not visible)

Cables
Blue Jeans Cables Beldon Series FE (HDMI)
Monoprice Certified Premium (HDMI)
Custom Audio Cabling featuring Canare stock with Switchcraft XLR connectors and Neutrik RCAs

Furniture
Early 1960s vintage office credenza (drawers on the sides, folding doors at center – love that the doors fold all the way back)

Laugh all you want at the added “decour.” My wonderful wife kindly indulges all this mess in our living room. If she wants to decorate, I have no problem with that. And actually, she loves the big sound and subwoofers, too!

Going to be spending some time Googling your kit! Nice setup.

Same here with yours! I have no idea what most of it is or what it's for! Nice to see the vintage Nak pieces still in service...

Wayne, how are you going from the information available from the real time analyzer to the channel specific parametric equalizer settings per channel? I am assuming, please correct if wrong, that the analyzer is measuring from your main listening position and thus is a representation of all channels plus the influence from the room.

Don't want to be a Debby Downer and isn't this kind of what the AV Showcase area is all about???

It’s a lot more simple than all that. :)

The CX-A5000 has two discrete and fully independent HDMI outputs. I have one of them sent to a cheap HDMI to analog audio converter with stereo RCA outputs, which feed line-level inputs on the RTA. So basically, it’s just displaying the frequency response of the program signal, not the room.

I do have the calibrated mic it came with, so I can do room measurements with it. However, REW essentially make it obsolete for that use.

Still, I enjoy the program display, especially seeing how low music recordings and movies get.

Wayne

You can also view the More link underneath member avatars for system listings. I have several grouped in various rooms.
