I want to export filters from REW and load into Rephase. Rephase insists on XML formated data. The helpfile says to select Rephase as EQ type and then do „save filter coff„ from the EQ window. But that task asks again if I want MiniDSP or Sigma format as txt file. I am using REW 5.2 and Rephase 1.4.3. I am sure this is something stupid, but I tried all by now.

Works in REW 5.19. Can I load the Filter REQ file from 5.2 into 5.19 and save as xml without messing with the result? It works physically, I am just not sure if the data makes it over ok. Mdat files from 5.2 can not be loaded in 5.19.
(Setting EQ to Rephase in 5.20 seems to generate more then 17 filter, while it limits itself to 17 in 5.19, may be there is more...)

Try this:
Save the .xlm file this way:
37330

Open the .xlm file in rePhase this way
37331

I do exactly that. Upon saving, another window opens that asks me if I want DSP or Sigma formatting for my filter. in 5.19 all works as it should.

If rePhase has been selected as the equaliser the option shows "Save filter settings to file". "Save filter coefficients to file" with the miniDSP/Sigma format selection is the option for the Generic equaliser.

.... not on my System (5.20-64). I tried resetting filters and building them again, still stuck. I did start with generic, exported stuff for ROON, then switched to Re-Phase to export for Re-phase. I noticed that Rew would still make 19 filters, so it seems to be stuck on Generic for whatever reason. I tried other Eqs too, but I seem to be stuck in Generic.

Are you changing the equalizer in the Default settings or on the EQ tab (top right dropdown in the EQ tab above where it still says generic). It should say rePhase once you select it in that dropdown.

So, sorry for the confusion. I checked that again. REW will only upate the EQ type from the preference data sheet the very first time it is run. Any subsequent changes in type are no refelected, regardless of a restart or relaod of the measurement. That is the same behavior as for selecting the speaker type. The only difference is the house curve file selection in preferences, that changes everytime a new file is selected.
Thanks for helping me.

The preference setting is used to set the default equaliser type for new measurements. It will not change the setting for any existing measurement, otherwise you could never have two measurements with different equaliser settings. To change the equaliser setting for a measurement that has been made the equaliser selection in the EW window is used.

... that is all fine, I am just saying, that even after resetting all filters and creating new ones, any update in the preferences is not honoured. Likewise, any new measurement done after a first EQ will not honour any subsequent changes in EQ preferences. Saying, that no changes in EQ preferences are honoured after a first EQ process has been completed. Changes then have to be made through the EQ window´s interface (except of course Room curves).
This is all OK, it just caught me around midnight when I should have let go...

It certainly does for me. Set the Equaliser Preference for an equaliser type, make a measurement - it has an equaliser of the selected type. Change the Equaliser Preference to something else, make another measurement - it has the new equaliser type. Any measurement made picks up the equaliser from the Equaliser Preferences at the time it was made. The equaliser selection in the EQ window will only update the Equaliser Preference setting if no measurements are loaded, otherwise it only changes the equaliser for the currently selected measurement.

You are right. For every new measurement, the EQ type is frozen into that meaurement. Even doing a "Reset Filters" will not override this original EQ setting by a new one. This has to be done through the EQ Window
