REW setup

Hi I am trying to download latest REW version.
I have jre 7u7 Windows i586 installed.
I get this
"The install 4j wizard could not find a java (TM) runtime environment on your system. You can locate or download a suitable 32 bit jre (minimum version 1.8 maximum version 1.8"

Is all I need is the latest jre?

You need a Java 8 runtime. If you click the download button on that message REW will download one for you, it will only be used for REW.

This computer isn't online is there another option maybe offline?

You can find Oracle's offline installer here.

Will it only work for REW like said before if downloaded offline?

The Oracle installer would make Java available for any application.

Downloaded offline jr8 but exe file won't open to install.
Running XP.
Looked online on phone and nothing pops up.
Installed Visual C++ (the other program) that was required for older computers.

Tried uninstall Jre7 stiil not able to open - install jre8.
Any ideas to try.

The offline installer is a big file, 65 MB, so make sure you got a complete download. Otherwise don't know why it doesn't run on your PC.

Got the full 65mb, properties listed.
Reran Jre7 and loaded straight away.
