Hi forum members,

Maybe I'm Just thinking to difficult, but I couldn't find any information about the "check level" in REW.
I have calibrated my soundcard interface steinberg ur22c (straight forward)

So my setup is:
-laptop
-steinberg ur22c
-phantom mic.

Second step is "check level".

REW is saying set your "output volume" to 0.5...??? How/where? (in REW or interface) ofcourse I have a output volume on my interface but how do I set it to 0.5?

Then it is saying to adjust your "input gain" (from the mic) to 18db. I cannot reach that without using the "output volume" controle on my interface.

Can someone please help, then I can finally start.

It’s in the REW, panel as highlighted in the attachment below. (If you have everything set up correctly, it shouldn’t be grayed-out like it is in this picture.) It's fine to leave it at 0.5 and adjust to the proper level (as seen on the meters) from your interface.

Then it is saying to adjust your "input gain" (from the mic) to 18db. I cannot reach that without using the "output volume" controle on my interface.
It’s fine to use the interface’s control.

Wayne

I see you have the Java setting, I'm at the Asio and then this option is not available.

If I choose the Java setting I cannot choose my external steinberg ur22c.

I think I have figured it out. On the asio setting you have to make sure to set the output volume to match 75db and then turn the input gain to reach 18db. Now everthing is working and made my first measurement. The only strange thing I'm seeing in the measurement is that the maximum spl of the driver is 85db which is strange because the specification tell me that the driver should have 110db output. (it is the midrange driver of the klipsch la scala)

So I check the spl setting and made sure it is calibrated to the extern spl meter at 75db
