Hi, I wonder if omeone can help me! I am trying to calibrate my monitors with REW using my sonarworks mic, I have done it many times!

when I do it as normal via REW it works but when I choose 8c in the playback section of measurement, I get the following message. See Image. I therefore delete the reading.

Am I ok to use the playback from rew? Dutch 8c say to use theirs!

Many Thanks

Jason

You can use either playback source. Is your 8c software up to date? Do you hear both of the timing signals when using the 8cs? They should come from the left speaker.

Hey John, thanks for your reply, firmware is on latest! Phone app 1.2.35. And yes if you mean the high end blip before and after the sine wave! I'm a little out of my depth here....... but i think I have done it right! this is what I have after following the instructions with the rew playback options

Looks OK, I'd be inclined to raise the target level 2 or 3 dB and perhaps extend the correction to 300 Hz, depending on whether the response shape is fairly consistent over the area in which you'll be listening.

I’ve had the same issue with the timing reference not detected when using the 8c tone playback. All latest firmware etc. also, the measurement is a little wierd compared to the one I get if I just use the rew playback. (The upper frequencies suddenly climb a cliff). I’m setting up a new room over the next days so have been trying to get my head around the process.
