Hello,
I am using REW and UMIK successfully for creating FIR filters in a 2 channel system. Sounds great. What an improvement.
I am getting ready to calibrate my 5.1 system. I am wondering if a step by step guide exists for taking measurements and creating filters.
I have read the REW 101 HTS Current Version guide and should be good to go, but was hoping for something simpler. Here is what I plan to do. If anyone sees something incorrect please chime in.

1. Set spls on all six speakers
2. Set delays
3. measure separately with speaker setting small and no sub -L,R,C,S
4. measure separately with speaker setting small and sub -L,R,C,S
5. measure L+ R and Sub-
6 measure C and Sub---

Then I would apply eq 1/6 smoothing and make filters for each channel.

Do I use the measurements with or with out the sub for filter creation? I would think without.

Also the guide doesn't show doing anything for the surrounds. I assume only SPL and Delay are needed.
Also I think I should measure in a few positions along the seating position and average them.
Thanks to all for the information so far. I am amazed how many people are out there using this stuff.
