Question about the wiring method with the calibration output and input level

I use Generater to send out a 0dBFS full-scale 1KHz sine wave signal, adjust the output port of sound card to full scale.
Then I use True RMS Meter to read out the corresponding Vrms voltage, the following question:

How the True RMS Meter be connected to the balanced output wired?
Method 1 : 1 ground/Shieid and 2 Positive/Hot.
Method 2 : 2 Positive/Hot and 3 Negative/Cold.
