Question to anyone else who may know, I've got both the xls 1502 and the four 1002, both listed specifications state 29db gain at full power ( is that only with the signal knobs turned all the way up, some people yes some say no this is my set up and config the 1502 is on my subs and the 1002s for my fronts and center and sides, all connected via xlr from my outlaw 976 balanced receiver the channel signal from the receiver is set as followed lfe output is set at 0db with sub trim at -7db dts & dolby lfe boost at +4db and the fronts and sides are - 7db and the center is at - 9db all but the subs are 98db efficient, my room is 15ft by 18ft by 8ft

as of now the 1502 singal knobs are for the subs set at full an for the fronts an sides via of the 1002s singal knobs are set at 5:00 position about 75% an for the center also via of the 1002 in bridged mode is set 2:00 position about 60%

does the sound right or should i just set all at full an just back off the channel signal from the receiver more

It appears your speakers are fairly efficient, which means you have way more amplifier power than you will ever need or use. Thus you don’t have to worry about wringing out every available watt from them. If everything is working fine as it is, then you’re good to go. If you’re getting some background noise or hiss from the speakers, you can increase the Outlaw’s trim levels and reduce the amp gain settings.

Wayne

ok ill try that my reason for asking is some things sound fine then some sound to loud (srill an a bit to bright ) but no clipping thought from the amps iv used the receivers 10band parometric eq with high an low trims an rew to tune the setup but is hard to hit that sweet spot any stereo track via the 976s surround mixs like dts neo cinema is 50/50 on weither it sounds crisp or while all 5.1 an 7.1 tracks sound fine although a bit low via netflik an sometimes amazon

im not sure if thats just the fact that i dont have gains an channel signals from the receiver dailed in just right of that my source contant verys that much

Different sources can sound different... and it's hard to get one setting where everything sounds just right. If you have something like the miniDSP where you can setup 4 different presets, then you can tune each source to your preference. However, even Netflix is going to vary from program to program. Music on my server varies, music from Tidal varies.
