Pro-Ject Audio Turntable Owners Official Thread

This is too cool, I still have a bunch of Laser Discs and Delicate Sound of Thunder remains in that bunch. I love that one as well as a colorized version of Metropolis with newer rock music used for the sound track. It is great.

Whoa! Colorized version of Metropolis with rock soundtrack!?

There needs to be a Blu-Ray with all the Metropolis variations : )

In the 80’s a gent named Georgio Moroder took the black and white Fritz Lang movie and colorized it. He then got together various rock performers to do songs that fit with certain scenes. Queen, Pat Benetar, Jon Anderson, Bonnie Tyler, Billy Squire and others. It really changed the strength of the film, I thought it brilliant.

I have two turntables as well but neither one is a project.

Oh Giorgio. Daft Punk have an amazing song that is an interview with Giorgio set to music. That whole album is worth having - on vinyl!

I have been listening to TONS of vinyl. I’m really happy with the Hana cart, and I also upgraded my speakers a couple weeks ago too. The B&W bookshelves were good, but I was always teetering between adding a sub or getting towers.

I found a pair of Definitive Technology BP20s and couldn’t pass them up.

I’m actually fully content with my vinyl setup now. The Hana is so much deeper and cleaner than the Sumiko, and it’s really opened up in hours 60-80 of use. Wow.

The funny thing is, I’ve conpletely upgraded the entire system since Christmas, except for the phono preamp, which was a summer upgrade and sparked the entire process.

I'm on my 2nd Project turntable having lost the first one to a water line break. I now have a Project Xpression III with the acrylic platter and Orotofon 2M Red cartridge. Its connected to the phono inputs of my Yamaha RX-A3060 AVR and it sounds sweet.

Down the road if you're looking to try out a different sounding cartridge I highly recommend the Audio Technica AT-VM95C for $34.
I've had mine for about 3 weeks now and it beats my $300 Ortofon Quintet Red MC cart!!
