(March 25, 2018) Pioneer has revealed its first official ELITE branded receiver of 2018. The Elite VSX-LX103 7.2-Channel Network Receiver is priced at $599 ($749 CAD) and is available for purchase now.

The VSX-LX103's 7-channel configuration delivers both Dolby Atmos and DTS:X decoding across 5.2.2 immersive sound speaker arrays. And, conveniently, can be used to direct sound to a powered Zone 2, allowing for 5.2 performance in one room and stereo performance in another. Multiroom audio is further enhanced by the receiver’s onboard Fireconnect technology, which is used in conjunction with Pioneer’s free Remote app to stream a variety of sources including vinyl and CDs.

The receiver’s output is rated at 80 watts (8 ohms, 2ch driven) and features sound enhancement courtesy of Pioneer’s proprietary MCACC Auto Room Tuning correction suite. MCACC automatically calculates channel levels, speaker distances, and applies equalization for the best sound possible in a given room.

Owners of Ultra High-Definition televisions and projectors will appreciate the VSX-LX103’s 4K friendly design, which presents a total of six HDMI inputs, one HDMI output, and compatibility with 4K/60p, HDCP 2.2, High Dynamic Range (HDR10, HLG, and Dolby Vision), and BT.2020 video. The receiver’s HDMI output also offers Audio Return Channel (ARC) functionality to transfer audio from a television, bringing television-received streaming media to life.

The VSX-LX102 carries Bluetooth, AirPlay, Chromecast, DTS Play-Fi, and Wi-Fi functionality for convenient wireless music playback. In addition, it houses onboard board for support for popular streaming services, including TIDAL, Pandora, and Spotify. Hi-Res music fans will appreciate its support for FLAC, WAV, AIFF, ALAC, and DSD (2.5/5.6 MHz).

The Elite VSX-LX103’s launch marks the first of many expected Pioneer receiver announcements. AV NIRVANA will have more information as it becomes available.

Very nice product and lots of options. Nice.

I just bought the VSX-LX102 on clearance. This new version is very similar, however they added two additional HDMI inputs and support for Dolby Vision (which I don't believe the 102 has). Overall it is a nice receiver for a small room or HT set-up.
Thanks for showing us the new line Todd.

Sure thing, Jeff. Not surprising last year's model was minus DV.

I still say: if you feel what you have is underpowered, lets talk gear from accessories4less ;-)

I mis-spoke on this. For my situation, after I tweaked some settings, it has been perfect. Our LR is only about 14' X 22' and this receiver is plenty powerful (LX102). I have actually grown to like it more and more the longer I have it. Glad I was patient and willing to work with it.

Good to hear @Jeff S, Pioneer makes quality gear. Not surprised you’re having a great experience!

I have the LX302 in my home theater right now and it supports DV. It may just need a firmware update.
