(April 11, 2019) Taking a step back from the exotic, let’s put a spotlight on Pioneer’s newly announced HTP-076 Home Theater Package. Priced at $499 MSRP, the HTP-076 gives the budget conscious enthusiast access to an immersive five-channel system that's simple to deploy.

As Don Milks (Director of Marketing and Product Localization, Pioneer) points out: “Setting up a home theater can be a confusing and intimidating process with many consumers not knowing where to start.” And, as we all know, the complexities involved with pulling together a system are anchored by costs, some of which can reach into the thousands. That’s where an all-in-one “home theater in a box” system – like the HTP-076 – enters the picture. It simplifies the home theater experience from purchase to install, while keeping costs well within reason.

The heart of the HTP-076 is Pioneer’s healthy VSX-326 five-channel AV Receiver (80W/ch, 8 ohms, 0.08% THD, 2ch driven), which features a digital quad-core 32-bit DSP and several interesting advanced features. Among those features is full Dolby Atmos and DTS:X support for 3.1.2 immersive sound performance and an automated speaker setup that applies Pioneer’s Reflex Optimizer with Phase Control technology for a cohesive sounding Atmos experience. Owners also have access to dialog enhancement technology that can independently adjust mid-range sound for easier to hear dialog – this function is controlled via remote control.

In addition to Atmos and DTS:X, the VSX-326 also offers owners access to upmixing solutions for an immersive feel added to legacy content. Owners also are given access to various surround listening modes (think “Unplugged,” or “Classical”) and 384 kHz/32-bit digital audio conversion.

Video-wise, the system is fully compliant with modern 4K HDR requirements, including compliance with HDCP 2.2 copy protection and compatibility with Dolby Vision, HDR10, HLG, and BT. 2020 wide color.

And on the convenience front, owners can stream music using easy-access Bluetooth technology.

The included speaker system might not be sized to knock your socks off with tremendous power, but it is designed to fit discretely in a media center or small-room space. That kind of convenience, paired with an appealing price, make the HTP-076, a great starter system. Look for Pioneer’s all-new home theater solution to begin shipping soon.
