Here's some very good Panasonic UB9000 news....

As you all know I work closely with Panasonic and we are factory direct dealers. We wanted to hit a price point that would be compelling for the enthusiasts to be happy with and to attract new clients to the world of high-end streaming and disc playback. To that end we came up with a launch price of $999.

Our dedicated UB9000 web page has more information.

Now for some more good news... I mid - end of July I'll have a UB9000 engineering production sample! Hope to see many AV NIRVANA members and visitors at our showroom to audition Panasonic's new flagship UB9000 BD player.

Nice work Panasonic... This looks like it could be a Oppo UDP‑205 successor... I would be very interested in hearing more about its DAC architecture and Audiophile quality specs and internals photos...

We certainly needed a successor... congrats on gettin the sample Robert!

My engineering production UB9000 sample is in transit to me!

If all goes as promised by the carrier I'll receive the player this Wednesday!

Awesome! Post some pics and impressions when you receive it!

Just a teaser for now with lots more to come tomorrow...

Here's a glimpse of Panasonic's UB9000 Analog Audio Menu. Thanks to the high-end internal audio DAC's and detailed analog audio controls you can connect the stereo XLR balance audio outs directly to a high-end power amplifier. I'll be rocking Hi Res audio and MQA with this baby.

Hi Kal! Panasonic's UB9000 has stereo balanced XLR outs, and 7.1 RCA analog outputs and two HDMI outputs.

Love for you (and all AV NIRVANA members) to stop by our showroom and check out this ultra high-end player.

Very nice back-lit remote control.

The UB9000 has exceptional build quality.

Wow, Robert. This looks like a great replacement for the UDP-205. And cheaper!

Here's a pic of the HDMI set-up mens for the HDMI output that is marked for "audio only". As you can see it's configurable to your system's needs.

Here's a few more pic from various user menus. This new advanced technology BD player/streamer is very technical and is best purchased from a speciality dealer who can support all of the advanced features so the enthusiast user gets all of the value and benefit this player can deliver when set-up properly for each a/v system.

Well, I am very happy to report that we'll be bring in the DP-UB9000 for USA distribution!

Panasonic confirmed my 1st and 2nd allocations for the UB9000! Early December for the 1st allotment and one month later for each additional shipment.

1st two USA shipments of UB9000s are sold out and we are now accepting reservations for the February allocation.

Let the really big games begin!

Just got an update from Panasonic, with some good news... We're now likely to receive UB820s and possibly even our UB9000s sooner and.... for both series and starting with the Feb. shipment all of our future monthly allocations have been increased. So we can continue to accept reservations for near sold out February delivery and sustain a stable supply to avoid the frustrations we all experienced for the past two months with the shortage of UB820s.

I must tell you among all of my numerous advanced technology bleeding edge Beta testing and product development support that I've been honored to participate in, my relationship with Panasonic is one of the best business experiences I've enjoyed in my career.

Robert can you explain the main differences between the UB9000 and UB820. For example what do you gain in the UB9000 that is not in the UB820?
I have been trying to read up but do not necessarily find clear information on what you gain in the UB9000. Thanks in advance for any information you can provide.

The UB9000 has upgraded audio decoding, better build quality, dedicated and separate power supplies for the audio and video circuits and the audio and video circuits are isolated and shielded. The UB9000s enhanced build and design reduce the audio s/n ratio.

The UB9000 has an additional detailed screen that shows more information on how the disc is encoded.

The chassis connectors are higher grade and the UB9000 has balanced XLR stereo outputs.

Basically if you are a fan of premium design and build quality and or want the best audio performance the UB9000 would be the best choice. Some could argue that the isolated and shielded audio and video circuits help to produce an improved video output. I'l be testing this more thoroughly once I get enough UB9000s to get one for an extended time.

I assume I could send a USB REW signal in to my UB9000 via the front panel so I could measure the output using analogue out into my processor (I want to experiment with using my old Naim AV2).

My live webinar starts at 12pm EST today. Hope to see many of my AVNirvana friends in the chat room.

Thanks Robert, be great if you are able to answer my audio question - What is the Xover frequency when selecting small in 7.1 ?

I drew blank on this when speaking to Panasonic support in the UK
