(October 1, 2025) It's finally here! Dirac says its most advanced room correction technology, Dirac Live Active Room Treatment (ART), is now officially available for a wide range of Denon and Marantz AV receivers and processors. Owners of current-generation models already supporting Dirac Live Room Correction and Dirac Live Bass Control can now step up to ART, a solution that actively manages low-frequency behavior across all speakers in a system.

In North America, compatible Denon models include the AVR-A1H, AVR-A10H, AVR-X6800H, AVR-X4800H, and AVR-X3800H. In Europe and APAC, those same units ship under the AVC designation. Marantz support extends to the AV10 and AV20 preamplifiers, as well as the CINEMA 30, CINEMA 40, and CINEMA 50 receivers.

Introduced in 2023, Dirac Live ART represents the top tier of the Dirac Live platform, originally designed to bring professional-grade tuning to residential spaces. Whereas Dirac Live Room Correction focuses on optimizing magnitude and phase for transparency, and Dirac Live Bass Control intelligently wrangles multiple subwoofers, ART pushes the concept further. By treating every speaker in the system as part of a unified team, ART uses Dirac’s patented MIMO processing to smooth resonances in the critical 20-150 Hz range. The result is bass that remains consistent and articulate across all listening positions, regardless of whether the system is housed in a purpose-built theater or a more acoustically challenging living room.

Dirac explains the effect as every speaker in the room cooperating to tame low-frequency energy, reducing reverberation times and preventing that familiar “one seat sounds great, another sounds muddy” phenomenon. It’s a digital solution to problems that would normally require a heavy investment in physical acoustic treatment, and it comes with the added benefit of real-time phase alignment and spatial control.

For Denon and Marantz owners, the upgrade path is straightforward. Dirac Live ART is offered as an optional license for $299, available directly through Dirac. It can be purchased as a stand-alone add-on or bundled with other Dirac Live modules, expanding the flexibility of what’s already one of the most advanced room optimization platforms in home theater.

Current owners can purchase a license here for Marantz and here for Denon.

Happy room correcting!
