Hi
Hoping someone can tell me what I am doing wrong.
I have connected my PC (windows 11) to my car head unit (Sony 9550es) via Bluetooth, and if I use something like Media Player, then the sound plays fine on the system.
However, when I try to play a sweep, test tones, etc via REW, no sound is outputted. I've tried both the exclusive and non-exclusive selection of the Sony 9950 in the preference output device, and get nothing.

Its probably something simple, but its completely got me

Are you using the Generator function of REW to create a .WAV sweeptone file, with a timing reference and transferring that .WAV file to your head unit somehow? Via that Media Player or maybe a USB jump drive... I don't think REW supports outputting directly to Bluetooth... It would only do 16bit/44kHz at best... You would probably want 24bit/44kHz at a minimum... And I will be happy to be corrected on these last points...

Yes, that’s how I’m doing it at the moment, the trouble comes in when measuring the sub as the timing tone isn’t produced.

I’ve used rew, via Bluetooth with previous head units, but never with windows 11 before, so I don’t know if that’s the issue or if it’s n/a

I don't have any experience with automotive acoustic measurements... So you may take this with a grain of salt... I always use the Right channel as the timing reference no matter which additional speaker I am measuring, including the sub... If need be in some instances I have pulled cabling from the left speaker and connected the sub to measure it that way... Now I have a preamp that has two L&Rs out... One set of L&R goes to my main amp and the actual L&R speakers and the other set goes to the powered sub... All gets the timing ref from the main R speaker... Hope this helps...

I thought there would be an easy solution 🙄😆

Yes that works for me 👍
