I just got required equipment and setting up to take measurements in my listening room built last winter. This is a 2 speaker setup. I am using mic jack to rca cable from pc and a minidsp umik1 . I was able to produce pink noise to try and set level using preamp volume control. Do I need to set each speakers volume level to generate the same db's? I ask as after setting one speaker at 75db and then checking the other the volume is different to the ear and certainly with the mic.

Thanks in advance for input.

For good SS&I specially in stereo, the 2 fronts must be at the same SPL

Thanks for this. My ignorance but if at a particular preamp volume setting, I would think the output would be the same.? I am going to experiment more tonight and maybe take some actual readings. My setup is 4 tube preamp and two amps in mono format. A Schiit Freya and two Vidar's. If I discover that there it's a substantial difference between left and right channel's makes me wonder if I have an actual hardware issue.
