New Gear

I signed up for an ISF class later this year and after some back 'n' forth, I got a very good deal on some new calibration gear. Got a new Murideo Six-G pattern generator, a Colorimetry Research CR-250-RH spectroradiometer and a Colorimetery CR-100 on the way. Originally I had planned on waiting to get new gear but it's driving me nuts that I cannot measure anything HDR related on my new LG C7 with my current gear outside of my i1D3.

Hopefully it will all arrive by the end of next week!

I really wonder how much I'll actually learn at the class. I've been calibrating for quite some time now and outside of HDR, I can't believe there's much for me to glean from it. I'll find out though and report back.

They offered me one heckuva deal! I won't say how much but basically the 6-G was free and there was a big discount on the rest as well. I just couldn't pass up on it. Markups on this stuff must be huge!

All the new stuff showed up yesterday and I have no time to do anything with it until Friday. Grrrrrrrrrrrr

Upon closer inspection, it appears they have shipped me a used Murideo Six-G. Not too happy about that! There are quite a few blemishes on the screen. I sent out an email with pictures to the provider. I'll report back on how they handle it.

Wow.. Wonder if your shipment got mislabeled and you got somebody's order instead??

I did get an incredible discount. But I was never lead to believe that any of the gear would be used.

hmm, definitely false advertising if that was the case instead of shipping error! Refund or another shipment with new equipment!

And looking through everything, it appears my ND filters were not included either. I specifically asked for those.

Well I checked for a plastic film but apparently I didn't check hard enough! There was a protective film on there. No word on the filters yet.

Great. What about receiving used product?

It wasn't used. It was new and the scratches/smudges were on a plastic film covering. I had checked for a film coating originally but this stuff was very well hidden. It took a bit of work to get it peeled off.

Wow, don't you just hate that plastic film covering..lol. Happy to hear all is resolved.

Set it all up and tested it out today briefly. The CR-100 is lightning fast! Everything works great except for Chromapure. It's been crashing during the initial setup. I'll uninstall/reinstall it and try it again next week.

Yes it is! I believe I'm about all set up for display reviews now. Got the ISF class in December if Tampa survives Irma.

No I'm up in Minnesota. The class just happens to be there.
