Need help with Mac settings with REW

I followed the guide to set up REW on my MAC but got stuck at the Audio MIDI setup. After selecting Denon AVR, then clicking Configure Speakers the only option under configuration is Stereo and nothing else. How do get the option for Multichannel/5.1? I have a Mac Air connected to an HDMI/USB hub which is connected to a UMIK 1 and an HDMI connected to the front panel Aux 1 on the Denon receiver X4500h. Anyone know what I might be doing wrong and possible fix? thanks in advance

Sometimes front panel inputs don't offer the same processing options as rear panel inputs. Processing mode also has an effect, need to pick a mode that supports multichannel PCM over the HDMI connection.

thanks will change the sound mode settings and possibly the adapters if needed
