(August 23, 2021) NAD Electronics has given its popular 2-channel M10 streaming amp a solid refresh, recently announcing its successor: the M10 V2 BluOS Streaming Amplifier. Following in the original model's footsteps, the M10 V2 gives owners access to Hi-Fi grade performance without complex setup requirements, opening the door to audiophiles and non-audiophiles alike.

The most significant improvement to the M10 V2's skillset is the ability to add a pair of BluOS surround-enabled wireless speakers or amplifiers to its base 2-channel capabilities. That means owners can enjoy 4.0, 4.1, or 4.2 Dolby Digital Surround Sound for use as a multi-channel home theater system. Additionally, two-way aptX HD Bluetooth allows owners to link the M10 V2 to loudspeakers, wireless headphones, or even a multi-room system of up to 63 other BluOS players.

Music can be wirelessly sourced from favorite streaming services and locally stored music. At the same time, optical and coax digital, HDMI eARC, and USB inputs allow for physical connections with CD players, gaming systems, displays, and other components and drives. An onboard ESS Sabre DAC delivers 32-bit/384kHz processing with support for MQA, Amazon Music Ultra HS, Deezer, Qobuz, and TIDAL. Supported file types include WAV, FLAC, AIFF, ALAC, AAC, MP3, Ogg Vorbis, and more.

The M10 V2 has a gorgeous room presence, thanks to a solid brushed aluminum chassis and Gorilla Glass top and front panels. An upgraded 7" IPS color touchscreen provides better color and a wider viewing angle as compared to the original M10, while a newly included IR remote eliminates distance inconveniences. Of course, in-room performance is ultimately more important than looks, which makes the inclusion of Dirac Live room correction so important. Using the included calibrated microphone, the M10 and Dirac measure a room's acoustic anomalies, optimizing playback up to 500Hz. Users can store five different profiles to accommodate two- and four-channel configurations, in addition to compensating for varied room conditions (curtains open or closed, for example).

Internally, the M10 V2 harnesses the power of nCore amp technology rated at 100 watts per channel. Newly updated gain algorithms deliver higher output levels for inefficient speakers, while higher gain subwoofer outputs accommodate a wide range of subwoofer and speaker combinations.

"The original M10 caught the industry off-guard and made audiophiles and non-audiophiles reimagine what hi-fi can and should be," stated Cas Oostvogel, Product Manager for NAD Electronics. "The M10 V2 continues where the first left off and adds even more versatility as a two-channel or potentially a wireless home theatre system."

The Masters M10 V2 BluOS Streaming Amplifier is priced at $2,749 and is shipping now. For more information, visit www.nadelectronics.com.

Does the V2 notation mean NAD fixed the many issues pointed out by Amir and friends at ASR?
