While MuxLab is committed to providing integrators with the best variety of IP-based solutions that deliver 4K content around the home, this year’s CEDIA will see some alternative solutions for integrating 4K content in a seamless manner.

Debuting at CEDIA this year is the MuxLab 8x8 HDBT Matrix PoE, 4K (model 500413). It connects eight AV sources to eight HDBT outputs with two HDMI outputs for local viewing. Each output extends content based on HDBaseT connectivity. Video resolutions up to 1080p can travel up to 70m, while 4K content can extend up to 40m, using one CAT5e/6 cable. Individual MuxLab HDBT Receivers (model 500451-RX) pair with remote displays to transmit AV instantly. Remote and local control functions are available via front panel buttons, IR, RS232 and IP. PoE eliminates power requirements to simplify installation environments.

A new 6x1 HDMI Presentation Switch, 4K/60 (model 500445) performs double duty as a combination Scaler and Switcher. The unit includes three HDMI 2.0, one DisplayPort 1.2a, one USB Type-C and one VGA inputs, supporting a greater variety of sources. One HDMI 2.0 output up-scales and delivers high definition content up to 4K/60. A two-channel analog audio port and a 5.1 channel digital audio port can extract audio to bolster a more immersive AV experience. Two of the HDMI inputs support MHL for smartphone and tablet connectivity as content sources.

Also on-hand is DomoStream (model 500778), a device that aims to elevate the in-home entertainment experience by delivering 4K over an IP infrastructure with HDR and support for all the latest audio formats. Its exceedingly low latency makes it ideal for streaming 4K video with every audio option available. HDMI is supported at resolutions up to 4K (3840 x 2160@30Hz) while passing through all audio modes up to 8 channel LPCM, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X. Two-channel audio can also be embedded at the source and extracted at the display location. The entire system can be managed and controlled through smart phones and tablets when combined with MuxLab's ProDigital Network Controller and the updated MuxControl App, while also supporting RS-232 and directional IR for controlling end devices.

The company’s third generation MuxControl app offers the kind of remote access to content that today’s users are demanding. It gives complete mobility to end users with enhanced features like the ability to completely customize remote controls, upload images of actual rooms, create pre-programmed tasks and completely tailor every option in the app to end users’ unique home or work environments. Hands-on demos are available at booth 1951 throughout the show.
