EDIT Jan 26, 2018: Click HERE to read a FULL REVIEW of the Monolith 12" THX Ultra Subwoofer!

Yes, folks, I have a brand new - JUST RELEASED - Monolith 12" THX Ultra Sub on hand. And it has been unboxed!

Through the magic of multi-media, it looks easy as pie. Not so much so in person :T. But, it's unleashed and breaking in!

Watch the reveal, here... if you'd like to see it slightly bigger, move your mouse over the video and click on the title at the top.

Cool. Thanks for the video. Looks great.

Thanks chrapladm. Quite a bit of boxing on this one. Sure wish they had outlined some unboxing instructions inside the top flap. Kind of had to wing it!

I look forward to the review and see how these compare with other big name internet direct companies.

I'm in the same boat as you! Hoping the review can get underway next week (the sub is burning a hole in my pocket!) ;-)

Kind of looked like this to me:

With my aching back, it felt like that! ;-)

Thanks for sharing. Looks like a nice sub. I'll read the review tomorrow.

Sure thing, Asere. Let me know if you have any questions!

@Indy Yes. Two very different speakers. The HSU is fantastic for what it is. Small footprint. Lighter weight so it's easier to move around. Great sound. I have zero qualms recommending the HSU. Zero.

Now, my comparison perspective comes from in-room use in my theater room (not external - outdoor testing)... but head-to-head, the Monolith dug deeper in my room. It also has the ability to go sealed or 1- to 2-ports open. That's a nice feature. It also has great sound. I can't stress enough that I felt the Monolith manages a refined/controlled output.

For music, both play straight through that all important 25-40Hz low end with impressive transient response. And both definitely can handle what most movies require.

At their given price points, looks like the monolith 12 is a killer sub. Reviews of the Monolith subs all seem favorable and indicate they perform above their price.

@Indy Definitely. Yes, the price point is right for entry into the $1K plus category.

Are you in the market?

As a matter of fact, yes I'm in the market for a sub. If you can believe the reviews on Monoprice's website, someone thought this sub was better than a psa 15v. I'd like to see how the Monolith 12 stacks up against some of the other ID 15 inch subs.

I haven't read that review... I'll check that out. I'd be curious to see some head-to-head numbers, but more importantly, hear both of them. Those are two very different subs!
