(April 5, 2022) Monoprice's high-end audio brand, Monolith, has released three new THX Certified compact home theater speaker solutions. Priced from $249.99/pair to $499.99/each, these latest models offer buyers budget flexibility while aligning with Monolith's reputation as a high-quality performance option. All three are avaialble for purchase now.

“Whether it’s a basement or living room, selecting the right gear to create a great sounding home theater can be a daunting task, but our Monolith line makes it easy,” explains Hobie Sechrest, Monolith business unit manager, Monoprice. “We engineer our Monolith THX Certified speakers to the highest standards for quality and value, and design them to meet the strictest performance standards to ensure an optimal home cinema experience in rooms of all sizes. Achieving THX Certification validates our hard work and dedication to bringing great products to market.”

Blending the traditional looks of a cabinet design with the compact nature of an in-wall speaker, Monolith's M-OW1 ($299.99) slim wall-mountable cabinet can be used as a front, center, or surround-channel. Using a 4.5" concentric driver with an inset 20mm silk dome tweeter and two 4.5-inch passive radiators, the M-OW1 delivers playback from 70Hz to 20kHz (4 ohms, 84.4dB sensitivity). Alternatively, the larger Monolith M-OW3 ($499.99) is an all-in-one. soundbar-esque solution that packs left, center, and right channels into a single, thin wall-mounted speaker. Each of the passive speaker's three channels features a high-performance the same driver array found on the M-OW1, pushing a flat frequency response from 70Hz to 20kHz.

The third new speaker option is a THX Certified Compact Satellite Speaker ($249.99/pair MSRP) that can play host as a left, right, or surround channel. Similar to the M-OW1 and MOW3, this speaker utilizes a 4.5-inch concentric driver with an inset 20mm silk dome tweeter. Though smaller in form factor than the on-walls, these MDF-encased, precision-tuned cube shaped speakers deliver a flat frequency response down to 80Hz.

“Monolith and THX are brands that stand for quality, and we’ve validated through rigorous testing that the new Monolith on-wall and satellite speakers from Monoprice truly excel. Meeting strict THX performance and listening standards, we’re pleased to announce that the M-OW1, M-OW3 and Compact Satellite Speakers from Monolith have earned THX Certification. Customers can be sure these speakers are capable of delivering spectacular performance for an optimal home theater experience,” said Steve Martz, global head of THX Certification, THX Ltd.

All three new speaker models featue keyhole mounting slots and spring-loaded wire terminals, and are a backed by a five-year warranty and a 30-day money-back guarantee. And because their driver arrays are timbre-matched, the speakers can be mixed and matched to create a multi-channel audio system.

I stumbled upon these while web searching the other day. It's pretty cool seeing a compact satellite solution for a THX system. I can't wait to read reviews about them :T
