Hey guys

I have a listening room which is 10.5m x 6.3m using a UMIK-1 USB mic. I’m using RTA to help assess my listening position for 2 channel and focusing on 20Hz - 300Hz and planning to use Pink Noise Periodic.

Should I point the mic DIRECT at the speakers and measure each speaker separately, or together, OR should I point the mic vertically given the size of the room which I understand is a factor to consider?

Hoping someone can assist.

Orientation doesn't much matter in that frequency range since the mic response is omni down there. Measure speakers individually to see what each does. If the speakers are symmetric across the width there will be differences in the way width modes are excited when both play, a measurement of both speakers (playing the same signal) will show that.
