Quick question... I'm fairly new to REW (pretty much just know enough to be dangerous)... Over the last few weeks, I've been using REW & a UMIK-1 Microphone to learn REW... Last Friday everything worked without any issues. Today, I hooked the mic up to my MacBook Pro to work through another round of calibrations, but the dbFS numbers are whacked (see attached pics)... I can't find any settings that seem relevant and I've tried rebooting & resetting everything possible on my laptop, but to no avail. Is there something I'm missing in the REW settings? or is this likely an issue with the UMIK-1 microphone? The only other thing that seems relevant is that there was a REW update when I fired up REW, so I undated the software. I haven't seen anyone else complaining of a similar issue, so I assume the issue isn't with the software itself.

Figured I'd ask here before contacting support regarding the MIC.

Thanks in advance!

Those figures mean the audio data from the mic is all zero. Check the volume settings in the mac's Audio Midi Setup app (in Utilities) and make sure the USB connector is pushed firmly into the back of the mic. Otherwise post a screenshot of the REW soundcard preferences.

I've confirmed that the USB is firmly connected into the Mic and have tested it on both USB ports on my MacBook... Blue light on the Mic is on...

Not 100% sure how the Audio MIDI Setup should be configured, so included a screenshot... Also included the screenshot of the REW sound card preferences...

Thanks

Resolved... This turned out to be issue in the MacOS settings...

System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Microphone > REW

somehow REW had become unchecked. Once I rechecked the box for REW, the UMIK-1 started working properly again in REW.

Good to know, thanks. Used to be that mic access not being enabled would provide no data, which would generate an error message. Appears macOS now sends zero-valued data instead.
