(May 9, 2025) Romanian audio house Meze Audio is set to turn heads in Munich this year, previewing two new products that expand the brand’s artisan approach to high-end headphone design: the all-new 105 SILVA open-back dynamic headphones and the Ultra high-purity silver headphone cable. Both products reflect Meze’s long-standing commitment to engineering detail, timeless aesthetics, and user-centric comfort—designed for audiophiles who want more than just performance stats.
The 105 SILVA lands as the next logical evolution in Meze’s open-back lineup. It merges the technical prowess of the 109 PRO with the warmth and musicality of the 105 AER, producing what Meze describes as a “new take” on its signature sound. A 50mm dynamic driver, featuring a cellulose composite dome and titanium-coated semicrystalline polymer torus, aims to deliver crisp transients and low distortion. A copper-zinc stabilizer ensures rigidity in the membrane for a textured low end and fast response—attributes that particularly shine with vocals and strings.
Visually, the 105 SILVA taps into Mid-Century Modern influence with a fresh walnut earcup design and high-strength polymer frame. It's ergonomically built for long listening sessions, borrowing the self-adjusting spring steel headband from the 105 AER and pairing it with plush deep-cushioned earcups. Every component is serviceable and replaceable, reinforcing Meze's goal of long-term durability.
Joining the launch is the Ultra Cable, Meze’s latest high-performance signal link designed with a continuous 16-to-8 wire braid and 99.9% pure silver conductors. Engineered to reduce resistance and maximize signal transmission, Ultra features 40 individual 0.08mm strands per conductor and avoids soldering at the Y-split to preserve signal integrity. The cable is available in lengths from 1.2 to 3 meters, and supports 3.5mm, 4.4mm, 6.3mm, and 4-pin XLR terminations. Dual 4-pin mini-XLR headphone connectors make it compatible with Meze's Elite and Empyrean II models.
Meze hasn’t yet announced pricing or availability for either product, but both are expected to launch later this year.
Attendees of HIGH END Munich 2025 can preview the full Meze Audio range—including the 105 SILVA and Ultra Cable—at the MOC Event Center, Hall 1, Atrium 7, booth B02.
