(November 5, 2025) MartinLogan has continued its steady rollout of new subwoofers with the launch of a new flagship lineup, the Depth Series. The range introduces two models, the Depth 212 and Depth 215, each engineered to deliver clean, controlled bass for the enhancement of everything from reference-level two-channel systems to large-scale home theaters.
Building on MartinLogan’s long-standing BalancedForce topology, the series utilizes a dual opposed driver configuration to eliminate cabinet resonance by allowing two active woofers to operate in perfect opposition. This approach effectively cancels out mechanical vibration, preserving bass texture and speed even at extreme output levels. Further vibration management is achieved through heavy internal bracing and a solid footing in the base of each sub, where anti-vibration feet reduce energy transfer into the floor, keeping bass tight and minimizing room noise.
The Depth 212 employs dual 12" woofers powered by a 2,200-watt Class-D amplifier, while the larger Depth 215 uses dual 15" Carbon Aerocore drivers and dual amplifiers producing 4,400 watts of dynamic peak power. Both promise output ranging from 18–120 Hz ±3 dB, which is deep enough to satisfy the needs of music and movie fans alike. Each woofer features MartinLogan’s new Carbon Aerocore cone, a tri-layer structure of carbon fiber, PMI foam, and fiberglass that balances rigidity and lightness to prevent distortion and maintain precise control. Airflow through triple-vented assemblies—spider, coil, and pole piece—keeps the drivers cool under heavy load, while dual copper shorting rings minimize distortion for greater articulation and effortless dynamics.
Signal processing and system control are handled by a proprietary 500 MHz, 64-bit Vojtko DSP engine, a reference-grade platform that monitors and adjusts performance in real time. The amplifiers are housed within a concealed convection-cooled design, where rear aluminum trim pieces double as heatsinks and airflow channels, maintaining efficiency while giving the cabinet a clean, uninterrupted appearance. Connections and power inputs, like XLR/RCA inputs and an RCA sub out, are discreetly integrated into the base. If wires aren't your thing, lossless wireless capability can be achieved with the included transmitter.
User interaction is directly managed through a Touch Control Interface that's hidden behind the company’s signature illuminated “zig” logo. Six backlit touch points and an LED display allow on-unit adjustments for level, phase, crossover, and Anthem Room Correction. Owners can also access management through the MartinLogan Control app, which supports fine-tuning via Bluetooth and easy integration with Anthem Room Correction (ARC) for a calibrated low-frequency response.
The Depth 212 and Depth 215 will be available in Gloss Black starting October 31, 2025, priced at $5,499.99 USD / $7,249.99 CAD and $6,999.99 USD / $8,999.99 CAD, respectively. Additional finishes are planned for 2026.
