(February 2, 2026) madVR Labs is building on the momentum of its standout 2025 campaign with the reveal of Envy Commander, a new web-based control platform designed to streamline setup and day-to-day management of madVR Envy video processors. This feature-rich offering is aimed squarely at both integrators and advanced enthusiasts, and will be delivered as a free upgrade for existing Envy owners.
madVR has built its reputation on delivering reference-grade video performance across virtually any display and content type. With Envy Commander, the company is extending that same philosophy to the user experience. Instead of relying solely on on-screen menus or external control systems, Envy Commander introduces a modern browser-based interface that runs on nearly any device without requiring a specialized app. Phones, tablets, laptops, and desktops can all access the system through a responsive web interface that automatically adapts to different screen sizes.
One of the most practical design choices is the way Envy Commander scales for different users. Basic and advanced interface views allow installers and enthusiasts to tailor the experience to their workflow. Integrators can move quickly through setup wizards and core configuration tools, while power users still retain access to deeper system controls when needed. The goal is to speed installation while preserving the flexibility that Envy owners expect.
At its technical core, Envy Commander is a persistent, real-time, bidirectional connection to an Envy processor. Any change made inside Envy Commander is instantly reflected on the hardware. Likewise, adjustments performed through the Envy’s on-screen interface or through third-party control systems immediately appear inside every connected Envy Commander session. This synchronized environment removes the guessing game that often comes with multi-interface control systems and ensures that everyone working on a system sees the same real-time status.
madVR Labs is also introducing patent-pending interface innovations that make advanced configuration more transparent. One highlighted example is how Envy Commander visualizes the relationship between Profiles and Settings, helping users better understand how different processing layers interact. For complex installations with multiple viewing modes, displays, or source types, this added clarity can significantly reduce setup time while minimizing configuration errors.
For professional installers, Envy Commander brings a suite of tools specifically designed for real-world deployment environments. A live monitoring dashboard provides detailed insight into incoming and outgoing video signals, active processing algorithms, system health, and operational status. The interface supports multiple simultaneous users, allowing technicians to collaborate remotely or on-site while maintaining synchronized control across devices.
According to madVR, industry feedback has already been strong. EJ Feulner, Division Manager of AHT Cinema at AHT Global, describes Envy Commander as a major step forward for ongoing client support. According to Feulner, “It’s the final piece that takes the Envy to the next level, delivering modern, real-time control, operation, and troubleshooting that makes advanced systems faster to configure and even easier to manage. I’ve been looking forward to this, and it has exceeded my expectations.”
Envy Commander will be offered free of charge to all madVR Envy customers and is scheduled to begin rolling out later in 2026. A live technology preview will be available at Integrated Systems Europe 2026, where attendees can experience the interface firsthand at madVR Labs’ booth (2G300).
