I have a Mac mini 2012 feeding a minidsp 4x10hd, via the mini toslink / headphone out jack of the mac mini. If I use the USB on the back of the mac mini, should I expect any different sound quality (better or worse)? I would then have to use a USB to toslink/coax bridge to get into the minidsp. Any information would be greatly apreciated as I am new to the world of Mac.
System - Mac mini 2012, tidal mqa, mini dsp 4x10 hd, (2) outlaw 5000 - 5 channel amps, Likwitz Lab LX 521.4 speakers.

Don't hold me to this, but I believe toslink is the way to go. I *think* it offers a direct digital pathway from your soundcard, while USB has to jump through a few hoops before it departs.

I, too, would go with the Toslink connection. I've had noise issues in the past with the USB.
